Description
The Pimpama Recycled Water Plant is an integral component of Gold Coast Water’s award-winning Pimpama Coomera Waterfutures scheme for the urban water management strategies for the region’s rapidly expanding northern communities. The plant was delivered under a design build Alliance between Gold Coast Water, United Group Ltd and Degremont, with sub-Alliance partners John Wilson & Partners (now WorleyParsons) providing the design. The plant includes tertiary wastewater treatment and a recycled water treatment system incorporating ultrafiltration, UV disinfection and chlorination to produce Class A+ Recycled Water. Recycled water storage is provided on-site and a transfer pumping system feeds remote service reservoirs. Storage lagoons were also constructed to facilitate the water balance.
Role
Degremont engaged Nick Read to act as their senior management representative to the Alliance. Nick was a member of the Alliance Management Team with an overarching brief covering the technical and commercial issues surrounding the project, and specific responsibilities for commercial management and project controls and services.
