Personnel
Nick Read and Paul Gaughan, the two principals, each have over 25 years experience in the water industry, in the ANZ region and internationally, and over that time they have both held roles ranging from engineering designers to senior line managers with large international companies. We have experience in all phases of the project lifecycle – from strategic planning and feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design phases, procurement, construction and construction supervision, commissioning, proving and improving, servicing on-going or existing operations, and in decommissioning.
Associates include Jeff Mayo and Martin Hazell, both highly experienced water industry professionals with specific skill-sets.
We also have a network of industry contacts, links and alliances with other independent and expert practitioners and specialist engineering companies, allowing RGPL to assist with practically any aspect of project delivery.
Nick ReadNi Nick started his career with consultants in the UK, and also worked on construction in the Middle East, Africa and lastly Canada, where he became a partner with the leading water and wastewater consultants Reid Crowther. Since moving to Australia, business development and project commitments have taken him to much of SE Asia, China, Singapore and New Zealand. Since starting up independently in 2006, Nick has been involved in a number of significant projects throughout Australia in a variety of roles. Refer to full CV for further detail.

Paul Gaughan
Paul moved to Australia in 1992, working with Kinhill, Brown & Root on a number of the large capital projects for Sydney Water and other clients. A move to CH2MHILL provided Paul with the opportunity to work on NZ water projects and he was also heavily involved with the development of Singapore’s NEWater programme, including the delivery of the first three plants. Returning to Sydney, Paul took on the role of Water Business Group ANZ project delivery / operations manager before joining Nick in 2008 to form RGPL. Refer to full CV for further detail. |
ck’s experience in the water industry covers all phases of project development and delivery from concept development through to commissioning and operations. He has worked with most project delivery models including D&C, DBO, BOOT and Alliance projects.
Paul’s experience with the water industry started with UK turnkey contractor Biwater where he was involved with the design and installation of water and wastewater treatment plants for a number of design-build projects, including RO installations. Since then he has worked with consultants and contractors involved with practically every aspect of the industry and project delivery.
